The Next Move Program
The Next Move Program helps youth and young adults—especially Black and Indigenous youth—navigate reentry and reconnect with community support as they build their next chapter. Through guidance, community, and care, we help each participant make their next move toward a stronger, more confident future.
Empowering Youth Toward Independence
Help youth and young adults develop confidence, skills, and resources to transition successfully from the juvenile system into independent, stable living.
Foster Education and Career Readiness
Support youth in exploring, accessing, and maintaining educational or vocational opportunities.
Examples:
Promote Emotional Healing and Resilience
Create a safe, supportive relationship between mentors and participants that encourages personal growth, emotional stability, and self-worth.
Advocate for Equity and System Navigation
Help youth understand their rights and access systems (housing, healthcare, education, legal aid) with confidence and dignity.
Strengthening Community Connection
Reduce isolation and increase belonging by connecting youth with positive community networks and safe environments.
Create a Sustainable Support Network
Ensure that each youth has a reliable circle of care extending beyond the program’s duration.
