Nyumbani Diversion Program

The Nyumbani Diversion Program is all about opening new paths and possibilities for youth and young adults before homelessness or system involvement becomes their reality. We step in early—with compassion, resources, and real solutions—to help young people stabilize, rebuild, and move forward with dignity.
The Approach
Our approach is centered on community, cultural understanding, and choice. We work alongside each young person to identify their strengths, connect them to support, and help them create sustainable plans for the future. While we serve all youth, the program holds a special focus on Black and Indigenous young people, whose experiences are too often shaped by inequity and misunderstanding.

Our approach includes:

Early engagement and assessment
Short-term, flexible support
Resource navigation and referrals
Community-based solutions over system involvement
